Why Prince Harry Isn’t Involved As The Duchess Of Sussex Makes Major Investment In Women’s Health

The Duchess of Sussex is continuing to make waves in the business world with a powerful new investment aimed at supporting women in midlife.

The Duchess of Sussex has been revealed as an angel investor in Midi Health, a California-based virtual clinic specializing in care for women navigating perimenopause and menopause.

The mother of two is among 80 investors who backed the fast-growing startup, with individual contributions ranging from £8,000 to £385,000, according to Fortune. Meghan’s participation further underscores her commitment to championing female-led initiatives and women’s health.

Notably, Prince Harry is not involved in this venture—and for good reason. Midi Health’s latest round of funding included only female investors, a deliberate move reflecting the company’s mission to prioritize women’s voices and leadership. Among the high-profile names joining Meghan are actress Connie Britton and comedian Amy Schumer.

Meghan on Empowering Women Through Finance

In an interview with Fortune, Meghan opened up about her evolving business interests and the importance of financial empowerment for women.

“Women need to see that they can build,” she said. “Women don’t need to be afraid to talk about finance. The more financial literacy we have, the stronger we’re going to be.”

She also shared a charming anecdote from her early entrepreneurial days: “My first business was making scrunchies. I’d buy remnants of fabric from the fabric store and elastics, and use my little home sewing machine to make scrunchies and sell them.”

A Growing Investment Portfolio

Midi Health is just the latest addition to Meghan’s growing portfolio of values-driven investments. The Duchess has previously backed a number of female-founded and socially conscious companies, including:

  • Clevr Blends – A wellness-focused coffee brand known for its adaptogenic lattes. Meghan described the founder, Hannah Mendoza, as “a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritizes building community alongside her business.”
  • Ethic – A sustainable investment platform that promotes ethical financial choices.
  • Cesta Collective – A luxury handbag brand that partners with Rwandan artisans to create handwoven bags.
  • Highbrow Hippie – A clean beauty and haircare line founded by her longtime friend and colorist, Kadi Lee.

Each of Meghan’s investments reflects a consistent focus on ethical business, sustainability, and women’s empowerment—values she continues to weave into her public and private life.
