Victoria and David Beckham have long been the definition of a power couple, seamlessly balancing fame, family, and flourishing careers. But it looks like Victoria, 50, might soon outpace her husband David, 49, in reaching one of the UK’s most prestigious honours.
The former Spice Girl-turned-fashion mogul has made her mark in the style world, earning accolades like Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2011, an OBE in 2017, and most recently, Harper’s Bazaar’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2023. Her label, Victoria Beckham, has become a global symbol of modern British fashion.
Meanwhile, David’s legendary football career is equally impressive. From captaining England to winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2001, and receiving his own OBE in 2003, his post-retirement work—most notably as co-owner of Inter Miami CF—has kept him firmly in the public eye.
Still, when it comes to receiving the ultimate recognition—becoming a Dame or a Knight—it seems Victoria might be next in line.
According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, the designer could soon join the ranks of Dame Vivienne Westwood, Anya Hindmarch, and Zandra Rhodes.
“Victoria could be in line to become a Dame in the not-too-distant future,” Ede said. “Her brand is now synonymous with British fashion, and she’s become a global ambassador for the UK.”
He added, “I think she may earn this accolade before David does. She’s a tireless businesswoman, an inspiring figure in the fashion industry, and a fantastic representative for British creativity.”
If a damehood is indeed on the horizon, it would mark yet another high point in Victoria’s already remarkable journey—from pop icon to fashion powerhouse.
