Detectives in Kenya have arrested two men, Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, who posed as “stunning” female masseuses offering luxurious massage sessions, only to rob their clients at knifepoint.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed the arrest in a statement on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
According to DCI, the suspects used online ads to lure unsuspecting clients by promising professional massage services. Instead of providing relaxing treatments, the victims were confronted with a terrifying ordeal.
The men reportedly enticed one victim, who, expecting a soothing massage, arrived at their supposed spa residence along Lumumba Drive in Kasarani. Once inside, the situation quickly turned violent.
The suspects pulled out knives, revealed their true identities, and forced the victim to transfer Sh280,000 to their phone number. They also took the victim’s valuables before discarding him from the premises.
Following the report to the Kasarani Police Station, investigators tracked down the suspects using forensic evidence. They were arrested while reportedly spending the stolen money at a chilling spot in the Kamiti prison area.
The two men are currently in custody and are awaiting arraignment.
