Buckingham Palace, the iconic residence of King Charles, is known for its grandiosity and rich history, but even royal estates require modern updates.

With the help of AI technology, the home of the British monarchy has been given an entirely new look.

We tasked Spacely AI, an interior design visualizer, to redesign three rooms within the palace, and the results are as majestic as they are modern.

The Ballroom: A Grand Yet Contemporary Transformation

The ballroom, where King Charles and Queen Camilla host grand evenings with dignitaries and royals, is a place of ultimate elegance. Traditionally, it boasts cream and gold tones with a regal red carpet.

The AI redesign shifts this classic color palette to a more subtle and contemporary scheme, replacing the gold and red with soothing mocha-colored walls and drapes, paired with a matching carpet. While the furniture remains traditional, the luxurious chandeliers remain the pièce de résistance, preserving the room’s stunning grandeur.

The Throne Room: Majestic Yet Modern

As one of the most important ceremonial spaces in Buckingham Palace, the Throne Room holds immense significance. In this AI reimagining, the room is transformed from its iconic royal red into a fresh, pristine white, with a more understated ceiling design.

The iconic grandeur remains intact through the impressive chandeliers and soaring ceilings, while gold accents are replaced with natural, modern touches like potted plants. Although the thrones aren’t featured in this version, it’s easy to imagine plush armchairs and stools in place, maintaining the room’s stately charm.

The Principal Corridor: A Fresh Update with Classic Elements

The Principal Corridor before

The Principal Corridor, traditionally decked out in bold green and red tones, has been given a subtle but striking update. The bright green walls are replaced with a soft yellow hue, creating a warmer and more inviting atmosphere.

The ornate ceiling details and statement lighting remain unchanged, while the furniture is updated to a more modern aesthetic. The iconic royal red curtains stay in place, while the bold carpet is reworked into a red-carpet style runner, keeping the sense of tradition but with a contemporary twist.

Incorporating AI into the redesign of Buckingham Palace’s interiors offers a fresh take on royal luxury, blending timeless elegance with modern style, and these stunning results provide a glimpse of what a future royal residence might look like.
