A manhunt is underway for Victor Hlayisani Shivambu, a male suspect wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, Mihloti Faith Shikhibana, in South Africa.
The tragic incident occurred on Monday, April 21, 2025, around 12:30 PM in Nkowankowa township, near Tzaneen, Limpopo.
According to a statement from provincial police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, officers were on routine patrol when they were alerted to a murder at Letaba Hospital.
Upon arriving, they found Shikhibana’s lifeless body, which had been brought to the hospital by a relative after she suffered multiple stab wounds to her upper body. She was declared dead on arrival.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Shikhibana, 44, was attacked at her home by her ex-boyfriend, who used a sharp object to stab her. Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene and has been on the run ever since.
The motive for the murder remains unclear, and authorities are urging the public to assist in locating Shivambu.
Police have identified him as a resident of the Malamulele policing area and are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Ronny Baloyi.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to track down the suspect and bring justice to the victim.
