Peter Okoye has addressed long-standing claims that he lacks talent and that his twin brother, Paul Okoye, was the driving force behind P-Square’s success.
For years, debates surrounding the duo’s rift have often focused on talent, with many fans suggesting Peter was primarily a dancer while Paul possessed the vocal and songwriting abilities that defined their music.
However, Peter challenged that narrative during a performance at the AY Live Easter show on April 20, where he received praise for his stage presence and energy.
One social media user on platform X wrote: “Wahala for AY show this night oooo. Peter Psquare wan use talent finish us ooo.”
In response, Peter tweeted: “Shey dem lie to una say I no get talent! Anyways, nothing prove, I just dey enjoy myself.”
While on stage, he also addressed the P-Square breakup, placing some of the blame on fans for creating division between him and his brother.
“Fans, you’re the reason why P-Square no dey together again,” he said. “Two boys were doing their own thing, una say one better pass one. E come enter one head, he begin misbehave.”
His comments have sparked fresh discussion online about the role fans and public perception played in the eventual split of one of Africa’s most iconic musical duos.
