After Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in 2022, her beloved corgis, Muik and Sandy, were entrusted to Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew. On Friday, the Duchess of York shared a heartfelt post featuring the royal dogs, marking a special moment in their lives.
In the post, Sarah shared a series of pictures, with one of the highlights showing Muik and Sandy snuggled up on the grounds of Sarah’s Royal Lodge home.
Along with the image, Sarah wrote a touching caption: “Happy International Pet Day to my seven sweet doggies! From their wagging tails and comforting cuddles, to the calming presence and loyal companionship they give every single day, life is simply brighter with these amazing furry friends by my side.”
Royal fans were thrilled to see the dogs, with one commenting, “Beautiful. Her Majesty chose you well to care for her little dogs,” while another added, “Oh Sarah, Queen Elizabeth would be so happy she left them in good hands.” A third shared their joy, saying, “Such beautiful family dogs, glad to see our Queen’s dogs are happy and healthy.”
Sarah’s Other Furry Friends
Along with the corgis, Sarah also posted photos of her other dogs—Roary, Ginger, Poppy, and two unnamed pups. One of the snaps showed Sarah riding a bike with one of the dogs in the front basket, reflecting her deep bond with her pets.
A Family Affair
Sarah’s love for her dogs extends beyond her own household. Her sister, Jane, who runs a pet business called Licki Mats, is also a huge dog lover. Sarah shared that she uses Licki Mats to treat her seven dogs, including the two corgis.
“I use Licki Mats for all my seven dogs, and for the two corgis, sometimes I give them yoghurt in one of these Licki Mats [and put it in the freezer]. It’s like an ice cream!” Sarah confessed. “I just walked past an ice cream van, I would like an ice cream, so why wouldn’t your pet?”
Last month, Sarah made a surprise appearance at Crufts to support her sister’s business. Jane, who usually resides on the Australian Gold Coast, doesn’t get to see Sarah often, making this sweet moment even more special.
