Lady Sarah Chatto’s eldest son, Sam Chatto, has caused a stir online after appearing in a rare video showcasing a piece from his latest ceramics collection — and fans couldn’t get enough.

The 28-year-old artist, known for keeping a low profile aside from his growing reputation in the world of ceramics, gave followers a glimpse into his newest exhibition Interior and Exterior through a captivating video filmed in Japan.

In the clip, Sam speaks with passion about the creative process and the inspiration behind his work, leaving fans thoroughly impressed.

One admirer wrote: “What a gorgeous piece, Sam. Isn’t it fascinating how a slight shift in perspective can influence the creative process and outcome? The texture and shape are incredible!”

Another gushed: “The artwork is so beautiful, I wish I were in Japan to see it in person! You’re an amazing artist.”

A third was taken aback by hearing Sam speak for the first time, commenting: “I wasn’t expecting such a deep voice — this is the first time I’ve heard it!”

Although he’s a cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry, Sam has only occasionally appeared at royal events, often alongside his younger brother, Arthur Chatto. He prefers to stay out of the royal spotlight, devoting his time to his art.

Creativity Runs in the Family

Sam clearly inherited his artistic flair from his mother, Lady Sarah Chatto, who is a respected painter and honorary vice-president of the Royal Drawing School.

After studying History of Art at the University of Edinburgh, Sam’s interest in ceramics reignited during a visit to North Shore Pottery in Caithness in 2017. He later completed a six-week apprenticeship there and went on to build his own wood-fired kiln at his home in West Sussex.

He explained in a past interview with MailOnline: “I’ve always had a strong affinity with creating objects, having spent much of my childhood crafting imagined landscapes and sculptural models. That naturally led me to clay in my later school years.”

He added: “The decision to start selling my work comes from a strong belief in the power of beautiful, well-made objects to enrich and enhance our lives.”

Now with over 89,000 followers on Instagram, Sam regularly shares glimpses of his serene, earthy pieces, which are available to purchase through his official website. With each new creation, he continues to captivate fans and collectors alike — and this latest video appearance only deepened their admiration.
