While promoting his new song titled “Cousins,” the rapper opened up about a disturbing chapter from his past that has left other Twitter users in disbelief.
He confessed to sharing explicit photos with his cousin when the latter was just 6 years old, and recounted that they acted out scenes from those magazines. Kanye also mentioned that this behavior continued until he turned 14. He added that his cousin is currently in prison for the murder of a pregnant woman.
Kanye shared his thoughts, writing: “This song is called ‘COUSINS,’ inspired by my relative who is serving a life sentence for killing a pregnant woman, just a few years after I decided we should no longer ‘look at dirty magazines together.’
“In my own chaotic way, I have grappled with the feeling that it was my fault for showing him those magazines when he was so young, leading to our actions.
“My father had Playboy magazines, but the ones I found in my mother’s closet were different.”
He concluded with a bold statement: “My name is Ye, and I engaged in inappropriate behavior with my cousin until I was 14.
