While Prince Harry is in the UK for court proceedings, Meghan Markle has opened up about her life at home in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is embracing her role as a hands-on mom, balancing the demands of growing her business empire while navigating key milestones in her children’s lives.
In her new podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan reflected on the perspective motherhood brings, especially when managing both a growing business and young children. She shared a candid moment of balancing Lilibet’s potty training with the high-stakes work she does from home.
“I love the perspective having young kids gives me while I’m building something. You’re potty training your kid, and then championing your team on something that is incredibly valuable to the world,” she said, noting how both moments are significant in their own right.

Meghan also discussed how her three-year-old daughter, who attends preschool only in the mornings, gets plenty of time with her mom during the day.
“I don’t leave the house to go to an office. My office is here,” Meghan explained. “Lili still naps and has a half day at preschool. When she wakes up, she knows exactly where to find me, even if my door is closed for a meeting.”
This hands-on approach to motherhood is something Meghan cherishes. She said that Lilibet often joins her for meetings, sitting on her lap during important business calls. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Meghan said, adding that she never wants to miss these precious moments.
Amid her family time, Meghan is also making strides with her business, launching her product range, As Ever, which sold out online. She spoke about the challenges of launching a business, describing it as “all-consuming,” even with the best team in place. “Every decision, every microdetail feels monumental,” she shared with Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd in her podcast.
As Meghan navigates both her entrepreneurial journey and motherhood, it’s clear that family remains at the heart of her world, even while her husband is thousands of miles away.
