The Danish royal family stepped out in style on Friday to kick off celebrations for Princess Isabella’s upcoming 18th birthday.
Isabella, the second child of King Frederik and Queen Mary, stunned onlookers as she arrived at Aarhus City Hall wearing a pale blue power suit—strikingly reminiscent of her mother’s classic style. The resemblance between mother and daughter was undeniable, with many noting Isabella looked every inch Queen Mary’s double.
The festive event, held in Denmark’s second-largest city, featured musical performances, dance routines, and a youth-led fashion show, all curated by local young talents. It marked the beginning of a series of celebrations leading up to Isabella’s official birthday on April 21.
Aarhus Municipality had previously confirmed the celebration’s budget at 290,000 kroner (approximately £32,542), which included 63,000 kroner (£7,075) allocated for catering and drinks for the 300 invited guests.
Joining the princess were her parents, King Frederik and Queen Mary, along with her younger siblings—14-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. Notably absent was Crown Prince Christian, 19, who is currently completing his military training with the Grand Hussar Regiment at Antvorskov barracks in Slagelse.
The occasion offered a rare glimpse of the royal family in a relaxed and festive setting, with Princess Isabella gracefully stepping into her role as a young adult member of the monarchy.
