Princess Madeleine of Sweden delighted fans over the Easter weekend by sharing a heartwarming new photo of her son, Prince Nicolas.
Taking to Instagram, the royal mom-of-three posted a sweet portrait of the nine-year-old surrounded by delicate white blossoms. Kneeling beside him was the family’s fluffy Labradoodle, Teddy, who looked just as poised for the camera.
Dressed in blue jeans and a cozy grey sweater featuring a racing green ‘P’ patch, Nicolas looked all grown up, flashing a relaxed smile as he gently posed with his canine companion. Madeleine, 42, simply captioned the moment: “Happy Easter everyone!”
Royal followers were quick to flood the comments with admiration for the young prince. Many noted his striking resemblance to his father, Christopher O’Neill. One fan wrote: “My, how he has grown! Happy Easter!” while another added: “Beautiful son — he looks just like his father.”
Prince Nicolas is the second of three children Princess Madeleine shares with her husband. The couple are also proud parents to Princess Leonore and Princess Adrienne.
Although Princess Madeleine retains her royal title, her children no longer hold the style of Royal Highness following a 2019 decision by King Carl XVI Gustaf. The adjustment means they will not be expected to carry out royal duties in the future, allowing them more freedom in their personal lives.
