Prince And Princess Of Wales Expected To Reunite With King Charles For Easter Celebration

The royal family is preparing for a meaningful Easter weekend, with King Charles and Queen Camilla set to lead the traditional festivities, including two major events: the Royal Maundy service and the annual Easter Sunday church gathering.

On 11 April, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the monarch, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, will attend the Easter Matins service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on 20 April—accompanied by other members of the royal family.

Among those expected to join are the Prince and Princess of Wales, who have been regular attendees at the service in previous years. This Easter is especially significant, as it marks a hopeful return to public life for Princess Catherine following her health challenges.

The King and Queen recently returned from a four-day state visit to Italy, and the Easter service is set to be one of their first high-profile domestic engagements since then.

Over the years, the Easter gathering has included a wide circle of royals, such as the King’s nieces—Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall—who may also be in attendance this year.

In past celebrations, Prince William and Princess Catherine have brought along their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—delighting royal watchers with their coordinated appearances.

The Wales family was notably absent from the Easter service last year, which took place shortly after Princess Catherine shared the news of her cancer diagnosis in a deeply moving video message. Following preventative chemotherapy, the Princess announced in January that she is now in remission and has since been making a steady return to her royal duties.

Her most recent public appearance was at the St Patrick’s Day parade with the Irish Guards on 17 March, where she was warmly welcomed by the public.

This year’s Easter service is expected to be a poignant moment of unity for the royal family, as they come together in the spirit of renewal and hope.
