A midwife has recommended that expectant mothers shave their nether regions before heading to the hospital to give birth.
Joy Eke Ilediagu shared the suggestion with pregnant women through her Facebook page.
She wrote: “Don’t show up like this in labor. Help us and help yourself. As you approach the final days of your pregnancy, please keep things tidy down there… always shave. If your partner isn’t helping, use a mirror.
“Even if it’s not for anyone else, just think about it: if your baby is coming out and accidentally grabs some hair… my sister, it won’t be funny (I’m joking, of course).
“But seriously, if you only knew how much your midwife or doctor will appreciate it when you take care of things down there… it could even help prevent tears, as the area will be easier to manage.”
“I’m just a midwife, please don’t make me take on ‘hunter’ duties too… some women come into labor with a thick forest! I know I have great women here who always stay clean when coming into labor. Let’s make it clear that you’re well-informed by your favorite midwife.”
