While Prince Harry continues his visit to Ukraine, Meghan Markle made a stylish and unexpected appearance in New York City on Thursday night, enjoying a night out at the theatre.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, looked effortlessly chic in a classic black blouse paired with a Carolina Herrera houndstooth pencil skirt as she attended a performance of Gypsy at the Majestic Theatre.

Known for her love of the arts, Meghan was clearly captivated by the production and later took to Instagram to share her excitement and appreciation.

Posting a series of photos from backstage, she wrote: “If you get a chance to see @gypsybway, you absolutely must. Congratulations to the tremendously talented cast and crew for creating magic on that stage.”

One of the photos showed Meghan embracing Broadway legend Audra McDonald, who stars in the show.

The Duchess expressed her admiration for the Tony Award-winning actress in a heartfelt caption: “And meeting @audramcdonald for the first-time last night…Her performance will leave you absolutely speechless.

“Full body chills. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, and if the theater didn’t have to close for the night, the standing ovation would still be happening.”

Gypsy tells the story of an ambitious and overbearing mother determined to turn her daughters into Vaudeville stars during the early 20th century.

A Busy Week for the Duchess

Meghan’s night out follows the release of the debut episode of her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. In the premiere, she sat down with Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder of the dating app Bumble, for a candid conversation about entrepreneurship and personal challenges.

During the episode, Meghan revealed she had been diagnosed with post-partum pre-eclampsia following the birth of one of her children—a rare and serious condition involving high blood pressure that typically occurs after childbirth.

“It’s so rare. And it’s so scary,” she shared, shedding light on a health issue that is often overlooked.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been making headlines on separate continents this week, both continue to use their platforms to champion the causes and passions closest to their hearts—from humanitarian work to the arts and women’s health.
