Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is asking a court to hold fellow artist Tory Lanez in contempt over his alleged behavior during a deposition tied to her ongoing civil lawsuit against blogger Milagro Cooper.
According to a recent motion filed by Megan’s legal team, Lanez—whose legal name is Daystar Peterson—displayed “disruptive and inflammatory” behavior during the deposition, which they argue violated the standards of civil litigation.
The lawsuit accuses Cooper of spreading defamatory statements, including false claims and deepfake explicit content about Megan, allegedly at Lanez’s direction.
During the deposition, Lanez reportedly feigned confusion over basic legal terms such as “discuss” and “approve,” and allegedly made personal remarks aimed at Megan’s attorney. One such comment criticized her hair dye as “distracting,” with Lanez reportedly telling her to “bring a hairbrush” to the next session.
The motion also notes that Lanez’s criminal appeal attorneys have clarified in writing that they do not represent him in the civil case and would not oppose the request to hold him in contempt.
Lanez was convicted in 2022 for shooting Megan in the foot, resulting in a 10-year prison sentence. The charges included assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying an unregistered loaded firearm, and negligent discharge of a firearm.
Earlier this year, Megan was also granted a restraining order against him, citing ongoing emotional distress stemming from the incident.
Lanez’s legal team has not yet issued a response to the contempt motion or the accusations regarding his conduct during the deposition.
