In a conversation with The Times, the 38-year-old entrepreneur expressed his desire for his son to one day have one of his beloved pups, continuing a special tradition.
James, who shares Inigo with his wife Alizee Thevenet, is a devoted dog lover and proud owner of six dogs, including four Cocker Spaniels and two Labradors. Over the years, he has bred five litters of puppies, two with his late dog Ella and another with his Labrador Mabel.
Looking ahead, James shared his thoughts: “I love the idea of keeping a line of Ella throughout my life. My son [Inigo, two] will have one of her offspring down the line.” He continued, “So when I breed them, I always do so with the intention of keeping one. Ella’s first litter was all boys, so I didn’t have much of a choice with Zulu, but I’ve generally tended to favor females.”
In the same interview, James discussed his life at home with Alizee and their pack of dogs.
He spoke warmly about how they share responsibilities, especially when it comes to their daily routines: “My wife and I share it very equally. About 90 percent of the walks we go on are together, and the dogs often join me on the farm. Feeding them is mainly my responsibility, especially with my dog food brand, James & Ella.”
He also mentioned that weekends are reserved for longer family adventures, often involving all the dogs.
