As the wife of Hollywood icon Alec Baldwin and a mother to seven children, Hilaria Baldwin has her hands more than full. Add in her thriving career as a yoga instructor and author, and it’s no surprise she sometimes feels overwhelmed.
Yet, as she said in an exclusive interview, Hilaria wouldn’t trade her busy, bustling life for anything—especially now that she and Alec are sharing it all on their new reality series, The Baldwins.
Raising Carmen (11), Rafael (9), Leonardo (8), Romeo (6), Eduardo and Marilú (4), and little Ilaria (2), means there’s never a dull moment at home. But Hilaria, 41, thrives in the madness.
“I think I naturally do well with chaos,” she says. “I have trouble sitting still, so it really feeds my soul and mind to be doing all these amazing and unpredictable things with so many kids. When it gets overwhelming, I just quiet the noise in my head—not to tune out, just enough to catch my breath. I really do love our wild life.”
Luckily, Alec, 67, is hands-on when it comes to parenting. “Alec is great at school runs, sports, and organizing playdates,” she shares. “I handle the homework, bath time, meals, bedtime, doctor visits—and of course, play!”
Behind the Scenes of The Baldwins
Their decision to star in The Baldwins, airing on Discovery+ in the UK, came from a desire to pull back the curtain on their real lives beyond the spotlight.
“It was scary but also cathartic,” Hilaria admits. “We had no idea how it would go or what would unfold, but we found amazing partners at TLC and an incredible team. They created a space where we could be ourselves. I’m so thankful for that.”
She was especially touched by the care the production team showed around filming their children.
“Our showrunner told me from day one that ‘consent’ was the most important word on this project, which really surprised me—in a good way. As a fellow mom, she guided me through having the kids on camera. Every time they were filmed, it was with their permission, which isn’t something I expected from a reality show.”
The series doesn’t shy away from the tough moments either, including the aftermath of Alec being cleared of involuntary manslaughter following the tragic 2021 shooting on the set of Rust. Viewers will see a raw and real portrayal of the couple’s resilience.
Love, Laughter, and a Little Bit of Chaos
The show also gives fans a peek into Hilaria and Alec’s dynamic relationship.
“We banter a lot—it’s definitely a wild dynamic,” she laughs. “We’ve been through so much together, and we’re still standing.”
Even with their packed schedule, they make time for date nights. “I love going somewhere quiet where we can just talk and decompress after a crazy day. It’s my little break from the chaos.”
And when life feels like too much? Hilaria leans into her wellness routines and emotional awareness.
“There are days where everything seems to go wrong. I take micro-moments to acknowledge that and release the frustration before it builds up. Daily exercise keeps me grounded, and connecting with other moms reminds me I’m not alone. Gratitude really helps—holding on to the good moments gives me strength during the hard ones.”
Despite the noise and nonstop action, Hilaria says life in the Baldwin household is exactly where she wants to be.
“It’s busy, it’s wild, and it’s full of love. Unexpected things happen every day—but I wouldn’t change a thing.”
