Hailey Bieber is raising awareness about women’s reproductive health, revealing her own health diagnosis on Monday. The 28-year-old shared the news on Instagram that she has two cysts on her ovaries.
In the post, she shared a selfie of herself resting on a sofa in a black tank top that highlighted her bloated stomach. Over the image, she wrote, “Currently have two ovarian cysts. If you deal with ovarian cysts, I’m right there with ya!”
According to the Mayo Clinic, ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can develop in or on the surface of the ovary. While most cysts are harmless and tend to disappear on their own, some can rupture, causing abdominal pain and bloating.
This update comes less than a year after Hailey welcomed her first child, Jack Blues Bieber, with her husband, Justin Bieber, in August.
This isn’t the first time Hailey has opened up about her struggles with ovarian cysts. In November 2022, she had to address pregnancy rumors after fans mistook her bloated stomach for a baby bump.
At the time, Hailey shared a side-on mirror selfie showing her swollen abdomen, writing: “I have a cyst on my ovary the size of an apple. I don’t have endometriosis or PCOS, but I’ve had ovarian cysts a few times, and it’s never fun.”
She continued, “Not a baby. It’s painful and achey and makes me feel nauseous, bloated, crampy, and emotional. Anyways… I’m sure a lot of you can relate and understand. We got this.”
