Gary Barlow Teams Up With Rarely-Seen Daughter Emily And Introduces Her Boyfriend On New TV Adventure

In the latest series of Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour, the Take That star embarks on an exciting journey across Australia, where he plays cricket with Dannii Minogue, tours the iconic Sydney Opera House with Tim Minchin, and goes stargazing in Alice Springs with Ronan Keating.

However, the most heartwarming moment comes when Gary is joined by his daughter, Emily, who has been living in Australia for the past three years while studying nutrition and midwifery.

Gary shared his emotions about the long distance, saying, “It’s been three years! It’s horrible,” during a chat at the Australian High Commission in London, the perfect backdrop for a show that takes Gary thousands of miles across the country in search of delicious food and wine. He added, “But I got to spend a month with her last year – oh, it was so brilliant. Reluctantly, she said, ‘I’ll do it for you.’ But she came on, and actually it was lovely.”

Throughout the series, Emily and her boyfriend, Marshall, join Gary on an unforgettable adventure in Queensland. The trio swims through the rainforest on inflatable mattresses, fishes in the mangroves, and enjoys a laid-back, fun-filled journey. At one point, with her signature wit, Emily quips, “Dad, could you not have taken me to a vineyard?”

Despite getting a taste of TV life, neither Emily nor her older brother Daniel—who is studying medicine—seem interested in following in Gary’s famous footsteps. Gary laughs, “Neither of them wanted to do anything with singing or TV. I don’t know if I’ve put them off!”

When asked about the process of selecting guests for the show, Gary revealed, “I was worried when it was decided that the second season would be in Australia. I thought, how are we going to find guests for that? But actually, we had an abundance of people eager to be involved. Australia has become such a big travel hub for Brits, and I’ve got a great circle of Australian friends who made time in their busy schedules to join us.”

Gary admitted, “I’ve got to say, this show is the most fun to make of any show I’ve ever done. Traveling around, seeing these incredible places, drinking wine, and eating amazing food—what could be better? It’s been incredible.”
