In a post on his X account, Musk stated that he has already provided St. Clair with $2.5 million and is contributing $500,000 annually for their child’s support, despite the paternity not being confirmed.
“I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but I’m open to finding out. No court order is needed,” Musk wrote. “Despite the uncertainty, I have given Ashley $2.5 million and am sending her $500k each year.”
These comments followed an incident where St. Clair was seen selling her Tesla, reportedly to cope with a 60% reduction in child support from Musk. The car, valued at around $100,000, was being sold outside her home in Manhattan.
“I’m selling it because I need to make up for the 60% cut that Elon made to our son’s child support,” St. Clair told reporters, expressing her financial struggles. She further remarked, “You can check the stock market; I’m not the only one dealing with the fallout from his decisions.”
St. Clair previously filed a lawsuit seeking sole legal custody of the child, claiming that Musk has been mostly absent from their son’s life, with limited contact. She alleged that he had only met the child three times and was not present at the birth, nor has he publicly acknowledged the child.
St. Clair revealed that her last conversation with Musk occurred on February 13, just before she went public with her allegations. “I don’t understand why the richest man in the world would behave this way,” she stated. “That seems to be his pattern when women speak out,” she added.
