Devoted Lover Killed During Fight Over Love Triangle

A 37-year-old man named Kevin Ouma was killed in the North East Kadem area of Nyatike sub-county, Migori County, Kenya, in what is believed to be a love triangle involving a married woman.

The incident occurred when Ouma confronted another man at the woman’s home, where both men were reportedly involved in a clandestine affair. A violent altercation erupted between the two on Sunday, March 31, 2025, ultimately resulting in Ouma’s tragic death.

According to the local chief, Voshastar Akal, Ouma died from injuries inflicted by a panga, while the other man, identified as Johnson Ochieng, also suffered serious injuries during the confrontation.

“The two met at the house of the woman, both unaware that they were involved with the same person when the fight broke out,” Akal told reporters. He noted that preliminary investigations revealed Ouma had a planned visit to the woman’s house on the night of the incident.

However, a few hours later, Ochieng arrived at the same location, leading to the confrontation. “The other man is currently hospitalized at Migori Level Four Hospital due to his injuries,” the chief reported.

In the aftermath of the incident, Ouma’s family reportedly stormed the woman’s house and set it ablaze. The woman, 35, has since gone into hiding with her children, as her husband works outside of Migori County.

“The situation is under investigation by the police,” the chief added. Ouma’s body has been taken to Migori Level Four Hospital, where it awaits a postmortem examination to aid the ongoing investigation.
