A representative for the 65-year-old actor confirmed the positive news on Monday, as reported by People.
Candace Cameron Bure, Coulier’s “Full House” co-star, also shared the announcement on social media. “DAVE IS CANCER FREE!!!!” Bure exclaimed in her Instagram post. “Join me in celebrating this AMAZING news — let’s shower him with all the love in the world!”
Earlier that day, Coulier discussed his cancer journey in an interview with Parade. He noted that his “symptoms were getting worse with each (chemotherapy) treatment,” with his final round completed in February. He candidly shared those thoughts of mortality often crossed his mind throughout his battle.
“I think everybody’s mind goes there,” Coulier said. “It’s part of the reality of life. Like, ‘Wow, this is really serious,’ and ‘What’s the worst that could happen?’ I’ve seen it happen in my family too often.”
Coulier’s wife, Melissa, also reflected on the emotional toll of confronting her husband’s cancer diagnosis. “After his fifth round of chemo, he said, ‘I don’t know if I could do this again,'” she noted. “He was prepared for either outcome—‘If I die, I die. And if I can stay here, great. I want to.’ Those conversations were incredibly tough.”
Coulier received his diagnosis in October 2024 after experiencing persistent symptoms, including an upper respiratory infection and swollen lymph nodes, which prompted a visit to the doctor. At the time of his interview with Parade, he was awaiting the results of a CAT scan to determine if the cancer was behind him.
Now, five months after his diagnosis, Coulier expressed deep gratitude for the support of his family and friends throughout his health challenges.
“I don’t know how else to view this other than with a positive attitude,” he stated. “And especially because I’m in a position where I can inspire others. A negative attitude doesn’t inspire anybody. Positivity, though, can take you a long way.”
