Jose Mourinho has found himself in hot water after pinching the nose of Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk following a loss in the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce on Wednesday, April 2.
Mourinho’s team suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup.
However, the match was marred by chaotic incidents, sparked by Mourinho, which resulted in three players being sent off: Fenerbahce’s Mert Yandas and Galatasaray’s Kerem Demirbay and Baris Yilmaz.
As the game neared its end, Mourinho and Buruk had a confrontation when Mourinho stepped onto the pitch. The Portuguese manager was then seen pinching Buruk’s nose, leading to Buruk falling to the ground, clutching his face.
This spat ignited further tensions, causing players from both teams to rush in. The altercation ultimately led to the issuance of three red cards just before the second-half stoppage time.

Mourinho was eventually pulled away from the situation by a member of his coaching staff.
