Emily Osment is seeking a divorce from her husband, Jack Anthony, after just five months of marriage. The “Young Sheldon” star filed for divorce on Friday, March 7, citing irreconcilable differences.
Osment, who will turn 33 on March 10, married Anthony on October 12, 2024, following their engagement in June 2a023. She indicated that their separation occurred on December 7, 2024, which means they were married for less than three months before parting ways.
The couple, who do not have any children together, had a prenuptial agreement in place.
“In any major decision in your life—be it related to relationships, work, or anything else—you need to be fully committed to that choice,” she stated in a message to PEOPLE. “Ultimately, it didn’t work out.”
At the time of their June 2023 engagement, Osment expressed her joy in an Instagram post, sharing her happiness while displaying her engagement ring, which features a square diamond alongside a circular emerald set in gold.
“I didn’t know life could be this sweet,” she wrote in the caption. “I am so proud of the life we have built together and the individuals we have become over the past few years. This love is immense and uniquely ours, and I believe it can conquer anything. I feel honored to stand by your side every day. I love you, Jack.”
Leading up to her May 2024 wedding, Osment spoke about her excitement regarding the planning process, saying she “could not wait to be married.”
Just days after the wedding, she confirmed their marriage during an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, although she chose not to share too many details. “It’s been great so far. These past four days have been glorious,” she said.
Since filing for divorce, Osment has removed photos of herself and Anthony from her Instagram account.
