Loveth Helen Alo, 32, has been arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court for allegedly making false claims about owning a five-bedroom duplex at WTC Estate, Enugu.
According to a statement by the spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, detectives from the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department arrested Alo on February 1, 2025, following a petition that accused her of falsely claiming ownership of the property.
Alo had visited Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, where she testified that God had blessed her with the house.
Evangelist Ebuka Obi even used her “blessing” as an example to inspire prayers among his congregation. However, suspicions arose when she was later spotted selling drinks in a small shop, leading to her exposure.
During interrogation, Alo admitted to fabricating the testimony and insisted she acted alone.
She has been charged with five counts, including obtaining by false pretense with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.
Alo was granted bail, and the case has been adjourned to April 9, 2025, for further hearing.
