Woman, 22, is HACKED to death by crazed stranger during livestreaming

A Japanese woman has been brutally stabbed to death in Tokyo while thousands watched her live-streaming herself walking through the streets.

The tragic incident took place at 9.50am local time today in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, near the Takadanobaba railway station

The 22-year-old woman was filming herself on live-streaming channel  WhoWatch when she was randomly attacked by a man, who stabbed her in the neck, head and chest.

She was taken to hospital, but later died from her injuries.

Approximately 6,500 fans witnessed the knife attack.

Onlookers described how the woman was heard screaming in the middle of the broadcast, prompting messages from concerned fans.

A taxi driver who witnessed the horrific stabbing told Japan Times that he saw the attacker ‘filming the woman’ and ‘kicking her head’ as she lay on the ground.

Police recovered a knife with a blade about 5 inches long, believed to be the murder weapon. A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

The man reportedly told investigators that he had no intention of killing the woman.

Police are currently examining the suspect’s mental state and motive, the Japan Times confirmed.
