The highly-anticipated Netflix series featuring the Duchess of Sussex, titled With Love, Meghan, premiered on the streaming platform at 8 AM GMT on Tuesday, March 4. Meghan has been understandably excited about the show leading up to its release.
This lifestyle series invites viewers to discover “personal tips and tricks” from the Duchess, emphasizing the importance of embracing playfulness over perfection and illustrating how to create beauty in unexpected ways.
Just one day after returning to Instagram on January 1, Meghan shared the trailer for the series, stating, “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support—and fun!”
The trailer showcases Meghan picking fresh produce from a vegetable garden, decorating a Victoria Sponge cake, arranging flowers, and chatting with celebrity guests, longtime friends, and acclaimed chefs. The series consists of eight 30-minute episodes featuring a cameo from her husband, Prince Harry.
Celebrity Guest Appearances
Meghan’s show features several notable guests, including her longtime friend and makeup artist, Daniel Martin, who has collaborated with the Duchess for over a decade. Charity founder Kelly McKee Zaifen also joins her. Other appearances include actresses Abigail Spencer, Meghan’s former Suits co-star, and Mindy Kaling from The Office.
Additionally, the series features prominent personalities like Delfina Blaquier, wife of polo player and Prince Harry’s friend, Nacho Figueras; fashion designer Tracy Robbins; literary agent Jennifer Rudolph; and skincare entrepreneur Vicky Tsai. Culinary talents Roy Choi, Ramon Velazquez, and Alice Waters are also part of the lineup.
Filming Location
Initially, many viewers thought the show was filmed in Meghan’s kitchen at her Montecito home. However, it was later revealed that the Duchess and her crew filmed at a stunning $8 million (£6.3m) farmhouse just two miles away. This beautiful estate belongs to Tom and Sherrie Cipolla, influential figures in the Montecito social scene.
Interestingly, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Meghan utilized some of her own kitchen gadgets and utensils during filming, such as a bright yellow and green lemon squeezer and an embossed mixing bowl.
Meghan’s Compensation
With Love, Meghan marks the fifth production released by Harry and Meghan through Netflix. While the specific payment details for the lifestyle series remain unclear, it is part of the Sussexes’ larger deal with the streaming giant, which is rumored to be valued at around $100 million.
The couple signed with Netflix in 2020, producing several projects, including the docuseries Harry & Meghan, Live to Lead focused on global justice activists, Heart of Invictus featuring competitors training for the Games, and Polo, showcasing the glamorous lives of players on and off the field.
Will There Be a Second Season of With Love, Meghan?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s five-year contract with Netflix is set to expire later this year. Their previous docuseries, Harry & Meghan, achieved tremendous global success, making it the biggest documentary debut on the platform.
Currently, it remains uncertain if there will be a second season of With Love, Meghan. In August 2023, it was announced that Harry and Meghan acquired the rights to adapt the romance novel Meet Me At The Lake by Carley Fortune through Archewell Productions and Netflix, with the screen adaptation still in development.
Originally scheduled to premiere on January 15, the show’s release was postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
