Upon arriving, King Charles greeted his eldest son, Prince William, with a warm kiss on the cheek. However, Princess Kate did not share a similar moment with the King; instead, they exchanged friendly smiles.
In place of a more personal greeting, Kate offered a respectful curtsy to His Majesty, a gesture that was captured by photographers. The absence of a kiss was not an oversight but rather a reflection of the event’s formal atmosphere and the structured royal lineup, which can limit casual interactions.
At 43, Kate maintained her poise and elegance throughout the occasion. She performed a lovely curtsy when she greeted Queen Camilla, showcasing her grace. For the event, the Princess of Wales wore a stunning red coat by Catherine Walker and a stylish Gina Foster hat as she greeted senior royals.
Queen Camilla looked lovely in a pink wool crepe and satin coat dress by Fiona Clare, complemented by a matching beret hat by Philip Treacy.
Last year, both Princess Kate and King Charles missed the service, a significant occasion in the royal calendar, due to health issues.
The Palace revealed that Charles had been diagnosed with a specific form of cancer in February, while Kate publicly shared her own diagnosis in a heartfelt video message in March. She is currently making a gradual return to her public duties after announcing she is in remission.
The royal family was joined by the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester at the service. However, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were notably absent, as Sophie had traveled to New York.
