Sean “Diddy” Combs, the controversial hip-hop mogul, is facing serious allegations of s*xual assault in a new civil lawsuit. An unnamed man from Southern California, referred to as John Doe, has accused Combs of the assault occurring on the set of a commercial between 2022 and 2023, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY.
In the lawsuit filed in New York County Supreme Court, Doe, who identifies himself as a “photographer/production assistant,” recounts an encounter with Combs during the filming of a “high-profile commercial.”
He states that after initiating a conversation with Combs, the rapper allegedly invited him into his trailer and demanded oral s*x, suggesting it would help launch Doe’s career. Describing the incident as “blatant s*xual quid-pro-quo,” Doe claims there was a clear implication that declining Combs’ demand could jeopardize his future in the industry.
The lawsuit details that despite their conversation, Doe was uncertain about Combs’ presence on the set, noting that high-profile individuals are not always listed on call sheets. In addition to the s*xual battery claim, Doe is seeking a jury trial.
In response to the allegations, Combs’ legal team asserted his innocence, stating that “no matter how many lawsuits are filed — especially by individuals who refuse to put their own names behind their claims — it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never s*xually assaulted or s*x trafficked anyone, whether man, woman, adult, or minor.”
The statement further emphasized that the judicial system is in place to uncover the truth and expressed confidence that Combs would prevail in court.
