Authorities in the U.S. have identified and released images of two men they are seeking in connection with the tragic shooting of rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter.
During a press conference, Forest Hill Police Chief David Hernandez announced that they have issued capital murder warrants for 24-year-old Adonis Robinson, a registered sex offender, and 21-year-old Jakobie Russell.
“They’re scared, they’re cowards, and they’re hiding,” Hernandez stated, urging the public for assistance in locating the suspects. “If you know where they are, please let us know.”
The victims were identified as Ronnie “Lil Ronnie” Sibley, a rapper from Fort Worth, and his daughter, R’mani Sibley. The shooting occurred Monday at Slappy’s Express car wash located on Forest Hill Drive, as confirmed by Ronnie’s aunt.
Authorities discovered the victims’ vehicle with bullet holes in the windshield and attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but both were pronounced dead, according to police reports.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects exited a white four-door Kia, approached the victims’ car, and opened fire. The suspects have been described as two Black men wearing blue jeans and gray sweaters.
The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation, which is still ongoing, as police work to establish a motive for the shooting.
“The safety of the general public is our top priority,” Forest Hill Mayor Stephanie Boardingham said. “We believe the employees acted quickly during this incident.”
She extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ family and the community, noting the widespread impact of the tragedy.
This shooting marks the third significant gun-related incident the Forest Hill Police Department has encountered this year. Detectives are also looking into the shooting death of a woman struck by a stray bullet while in her backyard, as well as a separate shooting at a dealership where one arrest was made.
