Jude Okoye has been released from Ikoyi Prison following a bail hearing related to allegations of theft involving $1 million and £34,000.
On Tuesday, Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja ordered Okoye, the former manager of the music duo P-Square, to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre while his bail application was pending. This order came after Okoye entered his plea regarding the charges.
Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, face four counts of stealing and converting digital distribution and publishing royalties.
During the proceedings, defense attorney Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN) informed the court that a bail application had been filed on February 27, 2025, and officially served to the prosecution on February 28.
After fulfilling all necessary bail conditions during the hearing on March 6, 2025, Jude Okoye has now left the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
The trial is scheduled to commence on May 16 and 23, 2025. Additionally, Okoye faces a separate seven-count charge before Justice Alexander Owoeye at the Federal High Court.
