Two educators at a Georgia school are facing serious s*xual misconduct charges related to the same alleged victim.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced the arrest of Sherri Delle Mauldin, 60, on multiple charges including improper s*xual contact by an employee, agent, or foster parent, aggravated child molestation, and statutory r*pe.
These alleged offenses occurred during her tenure at Nathaniel Greene Academy, a Christian K-12 college preparatory school located in Siloam, about 80 miles east of Atlanta.
Mauldin’s arrest follows closely after that of another former teacher at the same academy, who was also charged with improper s*xual contact involving the same student.
According to GBI spokespersons, an investigation into Bonnie Elizabeth Brown, 25, was initiated in June 2024 and confirmed that she had engaged in s*xual relations with the student while employed at the school. At the time of her arrest, Brown was working as a teacher at a preschool, as reported by Ashley Mitchell, the attorney representing the alleged victim.
Mitchell revealed that the alleged victim was a male under the age of 16 during the incidents, stating, “There was physical contact both at the school and outside of it.”
The alleged victim also shared a statement through Mitchell, expressing relief over the arrests: “I am relieved that these two women have been arrested and that the crimes are being thoroughly investigated. These women took advantage of their positions as my teachers. My school did not protect me as a child. I recognize that now, and I hope these arrests will lead to better protection for our community and its children.”
The GBI confirmed that both women have been booked into Greene County Sheriff’s Office Jail, and investigations into both cases are ongoing.
