Mahmud Usman Garba has brought legal action against businessman Alhaji Husseni Kashimu in a Chief Magistrate Court in Jalingo, Taraba State, accusing him of having an extramarital affair with his wife.

Garba, a resident of the Rafin Sanyi area of Jalingo, filed his complaint on January 13, 2025, alleging that Husseni Kashimu had been enticing his wife, Hadiza Sani, and engaging in sexual relations with her.

During a court hearing on March 16, a prosecution witness, Tahir Hassan, testified that Kashimu had confessed to having an affair with Garba’s wife during a reconciliation meeting at the Palace of the Chief of Tigun in the Kurmi Local Government Area. Kashimu reportedly promised to end the relationship at that time.

However, Hassan claimed that, following the reconciliation meeting, Kashimu continued the affair with Hadiza Sani, who has five children with Mahmud Usman.

Chief Magistrate Chris Jonah has adjourned the case to April 9, 2025, for further proceedings. He instructed prosecution counsel Danlami Shehu to gather the remaining two witnesses for the next hearing to expedite the trial.
