Prisoner killed fellow inmate with broken TOILET lid. He inflicted more than 30 injuries on him

Sasan Rabat, 27 inflicted 30 injuries on Stefan Adi – including to his head, face and neck – during the catastrophic attack in Rabat’s cell, has now been jailed for life.

According to court documents, he used a broken chair and the shattered remains of a ceramic toilet lid to brutally murder a fellow prisoner before using a locker to try and hide the body.

Police spokesman said: ‘A prisoner who murdered a fellow inmate in a brutal attack at HMP Maidstone has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

‘Sasan Rabat was responsible for an assault in his own cell, which left the victim suffering catastrophic injuries.

‘Staff entered the cell on December 9 2021, where Rabat was found sitting on a bed. Stefan Adi was lying fatally wounded in a corner of the room.

‘Rabat had used furniture including a locker and a table in attempts to conceal Mr Adi’s body and covered him in blankets and towels.

‘The 24-year-old had suffered multiple puncture wounds and lacerations to this throat, as well as significant injuries to his head.

Mr. Adi was confirmed deceased at the scene.

Sentencing Rabat to life, he was ordered to serve a minimum of 19 years before he can be considered for parole.
