Princess Alexandra of Hanover, a member of one of the world’s most renowned royal families, has shared insights into her bond with her half-siblings in a rare interview. The 25-year-old style icon and former figure skater, who holds a royal title of her own, spoke candidly about her family dynamics.
As the youngest daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco—sister to Prince Albert II—and Prince Ernst August of Hanover, Alexandra has a large extended family. On her mother’s side, she has three siblings: Andrea Casiraghi, 40, Charlotte Casiraghi, 38, and Pierre Casiraghi, 37.
Additionally, from her father’s previous marriage, she has two half-brothers, Prince Ernst August, 41, and Prince Christian, 39. As a proud aunt, she also shares a close connection with her nieces and nephews.
In a rare conversation with Elle España, published on March 21, Alexandra was asked about her relationship with her older half-siblings despite their significant age gaps.
“I feel very close to them, and they are some of the most important relationships in my life,” she shared. “Growing up with many older siblings has been fascinating. Watching them navigate different stages of their lives has been incredibly valuable to me.
“I feel very lucky because, along with them, their partners and families have become part of my life, and I have great relationships with all of them. That has made growing up feel less daunting. Seeing them establish their own homes and raise their children has made the future seem less intimidating.”
Beyond speaking about her siblings, Alexandra also expressed deep admiration for her mother, Princess Caroline, highlighting the qualities she respects most.
“Her resilience and the way she never lets anything faze her,” Alexandra revealed. “She’s incredibly brave and never panics. She remains calm in any situation, yet she is also incredibly strong. I’ve always known that I can come to her with any problem, and we’ll work through it together, without drama. She is truly a pillar for all of us.”
