Prince William And Princess Kate Unfazed By Fame, Prioritize Family And Duty

A former royal aide has offered rare insight into the private lives of Prince William and Princess Kate, shedding light on what truly matters to them—and what doesn’t.

Jason Knauf, who previously served as the couple’s communications secretary, recently spoke on 60 Minutes Australia, revealing that the Prince and Princess of Wales are largely indifferent to two aspects that often come with their royal roles: fame and celebrity.

“Not Interested in Fame”

Despite being among the most recognizable figures in the world, William and Kate are not drawn to the spotlight.
“They’re not that interested in the fame and celebrity that comes with it,” Knauf explained. “In fact, not really interested at all.”

This sets them apart in a world where public figures are often expected to embrace media attention. “They’re out there doing their jobs, but for the right reasons,” he added.

Knauf also suggested that neither William nor Kate would have chosen a life in the public eye if given the choice, but they have fully embraced their roles with a strong sense of duty.

“What You See Is What You Get”

At a time when managing a public image is more complex than ever, Knauf emphasized that William and Kate remain authentic both in public and behind the scenes.
“With both of these people, the prince and the princess, what you see is what you really get,” he said.

Unlike previous royal generations, the couple has made it clear that their primary focus is their family. They are dedicated to raising their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—in as normal an environment as possible.

The family recently enjoyed a private getaway to Mustique during the school half-term, taking time away from the public eye.

A Hands-On Approach to Royal Life

William and Kate have also chosen a more involved parenting style compared to past royal generations. Unlike King Charles and Queen Elizabeth, who were largely raised by nannies and palace staff, the Prince and Princess of Wales are deeply engaged in their children’s daily lives.

This hands-on approach mirrors their broader perspective on royal duties—prioritizing personal values over external expectations while remaining committed to their responsibilities.
