The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a man named Mubarak, who is believed to be mentally unstable, following the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man, Shamseen Danshehu.
The incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, March 23, 2024, in the Kwangila area of Minna, where Mubarak reportedly engaged Danshehu in a physical altercation, during which he allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
Danshehu was rushed to Minna General Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Local residents, who were unaware of the cause of the fight, noted that they often saw Mubarak wandering the streets, scavenging through refuse containers.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the police command, confirmed the incident to Punch on Monday, stating that the suspect had been arrested.
