Meghan Markle Highlights Thoughtful Gift From Late Queen On Special Occasion

Meghan Markle has shared a glimpse into her St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet, marking the occasion with a heartfelt family breakfast in Montecito.

Adding a meaningful touch to the festivities, the Duchess of Sussex used a gift from the late Queen Elizabeth II—a waffle maker that was given to Archie upon his request.

Meghan prepared green waffles for the family, crafting colorful designs for the children using berries, kiwi, and whipped cream to create clown faces. She and Harry enjoyed a simpler breakfast of green milkshakes and waffles.

Prince Harry first revealed the sentimental gift during a 2021 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. “My grandmother asked what Archie wanted for Christmas, and Meg said a waffle maker,” he recalled. True to her word, Queen Elizabeth II sent one, leading to a beloved breakfast tradition in their household. “Now, Meg makes a beautiful organic mix, and Archie wakes up in the morning and literally just goes, ‘Waffle?’”

In a recent interview with People, Meghan reflected on her quiet life in Montecito, emphasizing how much she values the sense of normalcy for her family. “Once you know us, I think you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children as they do, despite however unique our situation is,” she shared.

She also spoke about the significance of the Sussex name for their family, saying: “It’s our shared name as a family, and I hadn’t realized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children. I love that Archie, Lili, H, and I all have that together. It means a lot to me.”

The former Suits actress also touched on her growing creative endeavors, including her Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which has been renewed for a second season.

She expressed joy in rediscovering personal passions, explaining: “When your children reach a certain age—when you’re not just playing in the sandbox with them but almost playing in your own sandbox again—it’s super joyful.”

Reflecting on her journey, she added: “As a woman, a mom, and a wife, being able to find yourself again in a way that was always there but maybe didn’t get as much attention before is a wonderful feeling.”
