Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was recently spotted in Copenhagen sporting a striking new look. The 28-year-old, who is facing serious allegations in Norway, was seen with dyed black hair as he checked into a luxury hotel in the Danish capital.

Naturally blonde, Marius is currently under investigation for charges related to violence, rape, and threats. In February, it was revealed that he is being investigated for allegedly raping TV presenter Linni Meister while she was unconscious at Skaugum Castle, following a basement party at the royal residence in Oslo.

Authorities have reportedly discovered three videos and over ten photos of the alleged incident on Marius’ laptop. However, he has so far refused to cooperate with police inquiries.

Linni Meister’s lawyer, John Christian Elden, told Norwegian publication Se og Hør: “You will have to ask his lawyer why he chooses that. He has the right not to explain himself. But a lack of explanation on his part regarding what the police have uncovered will likely contribute to a guilty verdict. For the injured party, there is, of course, a desire to hear if he has a reasonable explanation for the evidence.”

At the end of February, Marius changed legal representation, with Ellen Holager Andenæs now serving as his defense attorney.

In a statement to Se og Hør, she said: “It has not yet been decided when my client will provide his statement. As new defense attorneys, we must first familiarize ourselves with the case documents. In addition, no one is obliged to speak to the police. If you are charged or indicted, you are also not required to explain yourself in court.”

While Marius is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family and does not hold a place in the line of succession, his mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is the future queen consort, and his stepfather, Crown Prince Haakon, will one day become king.

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 51, is currently on a two-week sick leave from royal duties due to health complications related to her chronic lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis.
