A 41-year-old man is now facing criminal charges after fatally stabbing his wife’s younger lover upon discovering them together.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WDEF, Jonathan Belk returned home early from a trip to find his 31-year-old wife in bed with an 18-year-old. Enraged, he allegedly attacked the teenager, stabbing him to death before placing his body in a trash can.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Belk standing in the doorway, covered in blood, per the complaint.
Belk later admitted to the attack, and when asked if he was concerned about anything beyond his legal troubles, he reportedly responded, “I am worried about my relationship with my wife due to the fact that I offed him.”
The complaint also noted that Belk’s wife sustained stab wounds during the altercation and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Belk was arrested and is now facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide.
