A South African man crashed his vehicle while trying to take the lives of himself and his wife during a heated argument over suspected infidelity.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to Hazelmere Road in Mhlasini, KZN, around 9:42 AM on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Upon arrival, RUSA officers discovered a brown Nissan SUV in a bush along the roadside.
The 49-year-old female passenger explained to the officers that she and her husband were traveling from Cottonlands to Mhlasini when she discovered female clothing in the car. When she confronted him about it, he allegedly threatened to end both of their lives.
As the argument intensified, he veered off the road with the intent to crash into a tree. Instead, the vehicle struck a boulder and came to a halt.
The woman sustained injuries to her back and was transported to the hospital by ambulance, while the man remained unharmed.
