International Women’s Day: Fans React As Royal Family Excludes Princess Kate From Major Post

International Women’s Day was celebrated globally on Saturday, but a post shared by the British royal family left many royal enthusiasts feeling dissatisfied.

The royal family’s official social media pages showcased photos of their female members taken by female photographers.

The image carousel included portraits of Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Queen Victoria, Queen Alexandra, and the late Queen Elizabeth II. However, fans quickly pointed out the absence of both Princess Diana and Princess Kate from the collection.

One user commented, “You’re missing The Princess of Wales, both of them,” while another shared, “I’m sad to see no Princess of Wales,” and a third remarked, “Wow. Nothing about the Princess of Wales?”

Some defended the omissions, highlighting that the post emphasized portraits captured by female photographers. While Kate has been photographed by Millie Pilkington, known for her royal wedding photos, it appears these were not included, as the social media post typically focuses on the showcased royals. Kate has her own personal platform for sharing updates.

Interestingly, the late Princess of Wales was featured in a solo photograph taken by female photographer Gemma Levine.

Despite the omissions in the main post, William and Kate commemorated the day in their style, sharing a thread highlighting 12 inspiring women they have met over the past year.

Among those featured were Chloe Hopkins, who runs the food charity Surplus to Supper; Holocaust survivor Yvonne Bernstein; and the late Liz Hatton, a teenage photographer who sadly passed away from cancer on November 27, 2024, shortly after meeting the royal couple during an investiture ceremony on October 2.
