Billionaire entrepreneur, Elon Musk, has suggested that the Russia-Ukraine war could end immediately if the United States imposes sanctions on Ukraine’s top 10 oligarchs, particularly those owning mansions in Monaco.
Musk made the statement in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, responding to a question from user @BasedMikeLee, who asked who funded the massive Ukrainian flag reportedly displayed near the White House.
“Place sanctions on the top 10 Ukrainian oligarchs, especially the ones with mansions in Monaco, and this will stop immediately. That is the key to the puzzle,” Musk wrote.
Musk’s Criticism of Ukraine’s Leadership
The SpaceX and Tesla CEO’s comment comes just days after he criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, alleging that he is prolonging the war to maintain power.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict began in February 2022, when Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a “special military operation” in Ukraine. The war has since resulted in millions of casualties and widespread devastation.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.
