Operatives from the Amotekun Security Network, Efon-Alaaye Command, have turned over 43-year-old Mrs. Damilola Clement to police after she allegedly struck her 9-year-old son on the head with a pestle.
According to a statement from Amotekun’s Head of Communications, Adewale Adeleye, the incident occurred at her residence in Efon-Alaaye during a dispute with her son over an unspecified matter.
Adeleye noted that the suspect reportedly confessed to the act, claiming it was intended as punishment for her son’s repeated misbehavior.
The case has been referred to the Efon-Ekiti Police Division for further investigation, while the injured boy is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the area.
