Donald Trump Says Ukrainian Leader Should Be ‘More Appreciative’ Of U.S. Support

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday, March 3, that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky should show more gratitude for the support the United States has provided in Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

“I just think he should be more appreciative because this country has stood by them through thick and thin,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

When asked whether minerals deal between Washington and Kyiv—intended to help resolve the conflict—was no longer viable, Trump responded, “No, I don’t think so.”

Regarding speculation that he might end military aid to Ukraine, Trump was noncommittal.

“I haven’t even talked about that right now… We’ll see what happens. A lot is unfolding as we speak,” he said. “I could give you an answer, walk back into the beautiful Oval Office, and find out that the answer is already outdated.”
