A High Court in Ughelli, Delta State, has ordered the remand of Perez Kingsley in prison custody for allegedly abusing his two children—his one-year-old daughter and three-year-old son.

Kingsley was arraigned on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, and has been taken to Okere Correctional Centre in Warri, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution’s office.

According to human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe, Kingsley is accused of repeatedly assaulting his one-year-old daughter and sodomizing his three-year-old son.

He reported, “This father, who allegedly abused his one-year-old daughter and sodomized his three-year-old son, has now been remanded in custody. Despite being a political party leader’s son, he will not escape justice, as we have assured him that we will pursue this matter.”

The case has drawn significant attention, with the activist emphasizing that their fight for justice will not be influenced by Kingsley’s family background.

“We will continue to seek accountability, regardless of any political connections,” he added.
