Crown Prince Christian Looks Sharp In Military Uniform During Family Reunion

Crown Prince Christian had a heartfelt reunion with his parents, King Frederik and Queen Mary, during their visit to the Danish town of Slagelse.

The strong family connection was evident as Christian embraced his father, with his mother looking on proudly. The heir to the Danish throne looked exceptionally smart in his camouflage military uniform, complete with a traditional black beret.

A carousel of photos included images of Christian with fellow members of his regiment, as well as moments spent walking alongside his siblings, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine.

One particularly sweet photo showed the teenager standing next to his mother, who radiated style in a corduroy coat and sunglasses.

“The families of the company were invited for a visit day at the barracks, allowing the Royal Family to see Crown Prince Christian in his new environment and meet his fellow recruits,” the announcement stated. It also noted, “It is a long-standing tradition for members of the Royal House to serve in the Armed Forces. His Majesty the King has completed military service himself and, in 1988, served as a platoon commander at the Guard Hussar Regiment.”

Christian has been serving in the regiment since February 3, 2025, and when he arrived at the barracks last month, he was on his own.

The 19-year-old is currently undergoing four months of basic military training and resides at the barracks, which is just about an hour’s drive from his home at Frederik VIII’s Palace, Amalienborg in Copenhagen. The Danish palace confirmed that Christian is not receiving a salary while attending the military academy.
