On Monday, the royal family made a grand appearance at the annual Commonwealth Day service, with the Prince and Princess of Wales showing their support for King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Last year, both Princess Kate and King Charles missed this significant royal event due to health issues. The Palace confirmed in February that King Charles had been diagnosed with a specific form of cancer, while Princess Kate publicly revealed her diagnosis in a heartfelt video message in March.
In addition to the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also present to support the monarch. However, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were notably absent, as Sophie had traveled to New York.
This year’s Commonwealth Day theme, “Together We Thrive,” celebrates the “enduring spirit of the Commonwealth family.” Centered on the values of family, unity, and peace, the theme emphasizes the importance of building strong, connected communities that empower their members and facilitate meaningful progress.
The service featured special musical performances from various artists, including the Masai Cultural Arts team and Braimah and Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, semi-finalists from Britain’s Got Talent 2015.
