An ex-beauty queen is currently sought by authorities following a failed penis enlargement procedure on a customer that also harmed several other patients who required hospitalization due to unlicensed beauty treatments.
Luana Nadejda Jaime, hailing from Brazil, is on the run after being accused of faking her medical credentials.
She allegedly posed as a nurse while performing “invasive” aesthetic procedures at her clinic in Aparecida de Goiania, within the state of Goias.
Four clients reported severe injuries to the police after visiting her practice. One man claimed he was left unable to achieve an erection after undergoing a faulty procedure.
The victim believed he was receiving a dermal filler injection intended to enhance the size of his penis last year. Authorities reported that he “lost the functionality of the member” following the operation.
As a result, state police have placed former Miss Goias Jaime on Interpol’s wanted list. It appears she fled to Europe after being alerted that police were preparing to arrest her due to complaints of malpractice from four former clients.
Her partner, Maria Silvania Ribeiro da Silva, was apprehended at the Lunar Clinic on March 20. Police chief Deborah Melo explained, “The arrest warrant is with Interpol; we have learned that she is in Europe, but we do not know her exact location.”
Two additional patients had to be taken to hospital emergency units after experiencing severe reactions to treatments received at the clinic. Prosecutors allege that both women fraudulently claimed to be qualified nurses while ignoring police warnings regarding their procedures from the previous year.
Authorities stated, “They offered invasive aesthetic procedures without the legal authorization to perform them and misrepresented themselves as nursing specialists in advanced aesthetics. They are neither nursing professionals nor do they possess any qualifications in aesthetics.”
The Goias Regional Nursing Council announced that both women have been removed from its membership list. A spokesperson remarked, “It is now up to the authorities to act in accordance with the court’s directives.”
